Painter of Images – a Prayer

God, Giver of Life, together with my soul and with our entire being, I ask You for complete and full protection for me and for my soul. I invite You, God, Giver of Life, into this prayer; I invite my soul. Please open my heart, God, down to its very core; please open my soul, God, down to its divine matrix; cleanse and fill with Yourself the space to which I turn.

I and my Soul surrender to You, God, Giver of Life, for complete and full cleansing and healing, all aspects of being painters, visual artists, draftsmen, drawers, watercolorists, graphic artists, illustrators, illuminators, masters of the brush, craftsmen of painting, caricaturists, artists, art conservators, stewards of perspective, creators of the transmission of an image / thought-form / idea—
as well as sculptors, composers, musicians, architects, writers, poets, performers, and creators in all other fields of art and expression.

We surrender to You, God, Giver of Life, for complete and full cleansing, all effects, habits, needs, traces, and marks of using paints, brushes, easels, canvases, painting supports, models, and painting reagents—those known to You and those I do not remember—from all incarnations of my Soul.

God, Giver of Life, take into Your care and protection all those whom my Soul used as models to satisfy its needs.
We ask You to decode and erase, and to do what You deem appropriate, with the karma of being painters and creators of art.

I have forgiven myself for the fact that, as a painter, I:
– became an alienated eccentric
– chose a solitary life, away from people
– placed art above family and loved ones
– was intoxicated with paints as in a narcotic vision
– replaced deficiencies with imagined images
– looked at everyone as a potential model
– was continually unconscious as a result of inhaling paint fumes
– viewed nude models, violating their intimacy
– accepted initiation as a creator of transmission
– acted in inspiration as if in hypnosis or trance
– lived in psychological scarcity, unable to fulfill my visions
– used animal hair for painting
– practiced and spread idolatry
– created on canvas images of devils, demons, and other beings and constructs
– embellished things and people without showing the truth

Together with my soul and with my entire being, we apologize to all those whom I harmed as a result of my unconscious actions, in all forms known to You, God, through painting and art. Together with my soul, we apologize for all the consequences of confusions of the soul, for all troubles and actions contrary to Divine principles, caused by painting.

We ask for the healing of relationships with the victims of these actions, with those harmed, and with all whom God the Creator would see in this act of atonement.
God, Giver of Life, I ask for the illumination of these and all other themes, contexts, and entanglements connected with the manifestation of painting and art.
God, I ask for supplementation and correction.

We thank You, God, Opener of hearts to love, for all the positive effects of this prayer.
