A Prayer Different From All Others

Resistance to Praying to God – Group Conversation

15 April 2016

[14:47:56] Marek:
When I was saying goodbye yesterday to that acquaintance, I suggested a prayer for his sick mother. His reaction was interesting. Complete lack of faith and disbelief. It’s hard for me to name it… When he heard it from me, it was as if someone had slapped him in the face or told him something offensive.

Małgorzata P:
I encounter similar reactions and smirks, and I hear words like… “What, you believe in prayers? These are different times now. God — does He even exist? Look what’s happening around us. Would God allow this? If He really existed, the world wouldn’t look like this.”

Marek:
There was already a period when his Soul tried to work, but back then it was probably difficult for it to reconcile with what the personality was engaged in. When I saw him previously, he didn’t have so many dark energies around him.

Małgorzata P:
People pray and don’t see the effect of prayer. If they knew how to improve their own prayers and that one should pray directly to God…

Marek:
I decided that what kind of representative and worker of God am I if I’m ashamed of Him in everyday life? And I have been following that idea for some time now.

Małgorzata P:
It’s true that people are often ashamed to openly speak about their relationship with God. People have no interactions with God if He does not exist for them.

Małgorzata P:
When fear strikes, then they turn to God. But when life flows normally or happily, what need is there for God?

Marek:
The whole art is to share that happiness and joy with God and with others.

Małgorzata 2:
I’ve also been trying to talk with my husband for a year. He dismisses me and says he’s a realist and has too many problems to “analyze” issues of spirituality.

Dorota:
(I agree) I have it similarly. People around me look at me strangely because I strongly engage in prayers to God. Sometimes they even silence me. And I have no one to talk with about God. Usually I hear answers like “you have to believe in something”… but I talk too much about it. You can believe in cabbage… it’s alive too and will listen. But then they don’t understand… “What do you mean?” After all, you have to pray through intermediaries.

Małgorzata 3:
My mom also told me, “What, do you think God is so accessible to everyone?”

Dorota:
And I answered: “My husband gave money to an intermediary for car parts — no parts and no intermediary…” I no longer believe in intermediaries.

Marek:
<My mom also told me, “What, do you think God is so accessible to everyone?”>
Yes, even for those who have spat at Him the most and betrayed Him three times over.

Małgorzata 3:
The idea of intermediaries is built on this supposed inaccessibility.

Dorota:
Yes, that’s true. And people get offended when you point this out. My cousin feels uncomfortable listening to me.

Małgorzata 3:
But how do you talk with people who, upon hearing that chakras exist, tap their foreheads?

Dorota:
You can’t. I’ve been exploring this topic for about 15 years. Life hasn’t shaken them.

Małgorzata 3:
Additionally, the state machinery supports it through the protection of religious feelings. I’m already losing hope that they will snap out of it. At this point, I just want them to leave me alone, because for over a year they haven’t been able to accept it. Instead, they “went after” my children. I often have to ask God for intervention, because there is a lot of pushing and shoving on their part. Apparently there were some intentions of my Soul to be born into such a fanatical family.

Mirka:
I dreamed that I was driving a car and carrying my daughters — the younger one normally in a child seat, calmly, and the older one for some reason was sitting on my lap in front of the steering wheel… I wanted to start at some traffic lights, the traffic was heavy, the light turned green and I couldn’t turn around, I couldn’t see anything, my foot couldn’t reach the clutch, I couldn’t change gears, and I got angry at her — “Where are you sitting? How am I supposed to drive in these conditions?” And somehow she moved a bit aside but still blocked everything and I couldn’t manage to be the driver.

[08:38:26] Sławomir Majda:
They are clearly interfering — in this situation it would probably be best to act within a convent. Then there is a lot of freedom, or as an old maid.

[08:39:11] Mirka:
I knew you would comment sarcastically. But it’s true — no one at home helps me with anything, and I still need to have time for prayer.

[10:04:21] Zbyszek:
From my experience, I’ll tell you that if you now have a small apartment and cleaning is a problem, then if you built a house there would be even more work and less time for prayer. I have a large space and I’m fine with it. But there is no such thing as you’re describing. My dear wife does more at home, but on Saturdays — that’s when we clean — I vacuum, mop the floor, handle the kitchen, clean the bathroom, etc., of course not everything at once. In the past I had patterns of making others serve me. Mirka, you set up your family well; you have the right patterns. So harness your husband to work together with you. You both work and earn, so you are both responsible for the home — alternatively, make an agreement: you have one hour for IN (intentions), and during that time he’s with the children. Then he does something for himself and you’re with the children. I also work and my wife works, I earn three times more than my wife, but that doesn’t justify dumping household duties only on her! I would drive such husbands away from women!!! Drones! :). Women have an excellent persuasive tool that works on every man. It’s enough to close the “sesame” for a while and he’ll behave properly.

Rudolf Steiner:

A certain primitive person recited prayers that he spoke in the evening before sleep and in the morning after waking, and that was good, because he strengthened his soul with spiritual forces, preparing it for higher worlds, and when he left them he again carried his soul by higher forces; in this way he drew soul-forces from the spiritual worlds.

The mineral, plant, and animal kingdoms below the human being pass through with spiritual forces that are constantly renewed; the same applies to the four elements of fire, water, air, and earth. With human beings it is different. If a person does not connect with these spiritual forces, he does not receive them. If he goes to sleep unprepared, he receives no forces in the worlds he then enters. No matter how educated, scientific, and highly ranked a materialist he may be, if in the evening he enters spiritual worlds unprepared, he stands far below the simple primitive person who has already connected with them through his prayer. In our materialistic age, thanks to its very admirable scientific achievements, man increasingly forgets about prayer. He goes to sleep and wakes up with everyday thoughts. But what does he thereby do? Something happens through this omission. Each time he kills a part of spiritual life and forces on the physical plane.
