A Prayer Different From All Others

The Second Commandment of the Decalogue – Prayer

God, please open my heart.

I accept and understand that God gave in the Decalogue the second (No. 2) Commandment in the following wording:
“You shall not make for yourself a carved image or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is on the earth beneath, or that is in the waters under the earth. You shall not bow down to them or serve them.”
(Deuteronomy 5:6–21) Link.

I forgive and release all those who caused me to be taught a completely different content of this Second Commandment of the Decalogue, namely in the form:
“You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain,”
which is not of God’s authorship and has nothing to do with the Decalogue.

I forgive and release all promoters of idolatry, and I forgive all those through whom I did not know that I was breaking the Law given by God in the Second Commandment of the Decalogue.

I forgive and release all those who, for reasons known to themselves, never told me or my family the content of the Second Commandment as given by God.

I forgive and release all those who look people straight in the eyes and speak an untrue version of the Second Commandment given by God. I entrust them all to God for His judgment.

I forgive and release all those who derive various benefits from promoting the false content of this Second Commandment. I do not have to be like them.

I fully forgive all those who inspired or encouraged me at any time toward idolatry. I do not have to hold idolatrous beliefs, desires, or experiences, nor do I have to act on them.

I do not have to surround myself with idolaters, nor listen to their suggestions, follow their persuasion, ideas, or beliefs.

I forgive and release all those who praise deities and gods, as well as promoters of relics.
