Black Suns in Our Energetic System

Working with intentions concerning black holes, Link** unexpectedly brought me information about patterns of spiritual burdens called black suns. I sent this information to a group of friends, and it turned out that I alone had been living in darkness resulting from ignorance, because everyone else already knew this term, although without references to the potential harmfulness of these patterns.**

Paulina: I know at least two songs about this. One music video showed this black sun drawing in the whole world and everything in it.

Sławomir Majda: Hmm… during hiking trips in secondary school, apart from songs about Lenin, we sang that “we are little black berries”. In turn, a nearby centre for people with Down syndrome was called “Jagódki” [Little Berries].

Małgorzata Krata: There is a lot of information about the black sun on various websites. The black sun of the alchemists in Babylon, as the personification of God. In writings from Babylon, we find a clear mention of the existence of two Suns: the White one, which gives daylight, and the Black one, which gives the power of knowledge. The Black Sun therefore refers to the spiritual values of a human being. According to alchemy, however, the Black Sun is a symbol of Saturn and represents the dark and destructive aspect of the Sun.

Paulina: “Black Hole Sun” by Soundgarden and “Czarne Słońce” [Black Sun] by the band Ptaki. There is this artificial world made of plastic and this sun draws all of it in, like an Armageddon. The second song is about how it grew out of pain and became filled with life.

Sławomir Majda: Within the human energetic system, it may serve to dispose of waste within oneself. It may be located in the liver. In the gallbladder, it will probably manifest as stones. Similarly in the kidneys. If it manifested within female sexual organs, it may have been intended to prevent pregnancies. Today it may bring many worries and illnesses. After all, we [and our Souls] are beings of divine light, not containers for codings, agreements, black holes, etc.

Beata Bronakowska-Satak: I have in my collection a book by Julia Kristeva, who lives and lectures in France: Black Sun: Depression and Melancholia. This term is therefore also known among psychoanalysts. The book describes clinical cases of depression, but the author also analyses the works of various artists, for example the Romantic poet Nerval, the painter Holbein and Dostoevsky. Nerval writes: “I am the dark one—the widower—the unconsoled, / The Prince of Aquitaine whose Tower is destroyed: / My only Star is dead—and my constellated lute / Bears the Black Sun of Melancholia.” Interestingly, Nerval remained strongly influenced by the alchemical tradition and Freemasonry, and also quoted Jean Paul, who wrote: “God is dead, heaven is empty. Weep! Children, you no longer have a Father.” The book is difficult for me to read because of its highly academic language, but in general I understand the term “black sun” as spiritual suffering that has also taken up residence within our bodies. Several years ago, I was driving my little son to preschool. It was a beautiful sunny day. “Look,” I said to him, “what a beautiful golden sun.” And he replied, being at that time in a contrary phase: “No, it is a black sun!” I clearly remembered the unpleasant shiver I experienced at that moment. What is new to me is that the “black sun” is no longer merely an intellectual symbol, but also an energetic phenomenon that clairvoyant people may find within their physical bodies.
