Signal Trumpets, Banners and Drums. A Prayer of Release
Please open my heart now, God.
I have forgiven myself for once taking delight in the sight of banners, standards, and pennants. I have forgiven myself for once giving honor, not to God, but to a cloth flag and to pennants waving in the wind.
I have forgiven all those who acted upon my hearing, my sight, and my senses so that I would become a better, more efficient warrior. I have forgiven myself for once becoming sensitive to the beating of drums and military snares. I have forgiven myself for once becoming sensitive to the sound of rattles, whistles, and signal trumpets.
I have forgiven all those who used torches, drums, trumpets, and banners in order to instill soldierly habits within me.
Love, my friend, I am grateful to you for having freed me from the sentiment I once felt toward military drums, signal trumpets, standards, and drill.
